Send Log ("the app") is published by Betaworks Apps. The short version: Send Log is built so your climbing data stays on your phone. We don't run accounts or servers for your logbook, and we don't collect your data.
Information we collect
None. Send Log has no sign-up and no cloud service. The climbs, photos, notes, tries, gyms, video links and gym card details you enter are stored only on your device. We do not receive, see or store them.
No tracking or advertising
The app contains no ads, no analytics and no third-party tracking.
Works offline
The app does not need an internet connection to log climbs, view insights, mark up photos or show your gym card.
Permissions the app may ask for
- Camera: to take route photos and to scan your gym membership barcode. Scanning happens on your device.
- Photos / media: to pick route photos and to link videos from your phone. Phone videos are linked, not copied.
On-device processing
Features such as "Find holds" and barcode scanning are processed on your device. Your photos are not uploaded for processing.
Video links
If you paste a Google Photos link to a climb, Send Log stores that link on your device. Opening the link takes you to Google Photos, which is governed by Google's own privacy policy.
Backups
You can export your logbook, photos included, to a single backup file. You choose where that file is saved and who, if anyone, receives it. We do not have access to it. Anyone you share the file with will be able to see its contents.
Debug log
The optional debug log stays on your phone. It is only shared if you choose to send it to us, for example when reporting a bug.
Gym card
Your gym membership barcode is stored only on your device and is used only to display it for you at the front desk.
Data deletion
Because your data lives on your device, you control it. Deleting climbs inside the app, or uninstalling the app, removes the data stored by Send Log. Backup files you created yourself are not removed automatically and remain wherever you saved them.
Children's privacy
We don't collect personal information from anyone, including children.
This website
This website is a simple informational site. It does not use cookies or analytics. If you email us, we will see your email address and message and use them only to reply.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this page.
